The problem
Printer, PC and AI agents didn't talk to each other. To check a print I had to get up and go look.
My role
I chose the hardware and designed secure access. The code was written with TARS, with 44 tests as a safety net.
What I built
- Agent deck. Who's working, who's waiting, in real time.
- Connected printer. An old laptop runs it; progress and backups arrive on their own.
- Studio climate. An ESP32 and an LED. In progress.
Agent deck
demo- Coreworking
- Codeworking
- Copyneeds you
- Elondone
- Studyasleep
- Managerworking
Simulation: fake states generated in the browser, not connected to anything.
The hard choices
- Read-only access, local network only.
- It has to keep working when the Wi-Fi drops.
- Code and sprites written from scratch.
Stack
- Node
- Home Assistant
- ESP32
- 3D printing
- 44 tests
Where it stands
Deck and printer work. The climate sensor is in progress.
What I learned
Look for the bottleneck, not the symptom.
